Las Vegas is an internationally renowned major resort known primarily for gambling, shopping, fine dining and nightlife and is the leading financial and cultural center for Southern Nevada. The city bills itself as The Entertainment Capital of the World, and is famous for its mega casino¨Chotels and associated entertainment. Las Vegas is one of the top three leading destinations in the United States for conventions, business, and meetings and is one of the wealthiest major cities in the country. Today, Las Vegas is one of the top tourist destinations in the world.
1. Bellagio Fountain
The Fountains of Bellagio is a vast, choreographed water feature with performances set to light and music. The fountains are set in an 8-acre (3.2 ha) manmade lake. The performances take place in front of the Bellagio hotel and are visible from numerous vantage points on the Strip. The show takes place every 30 minutes in the afternoons and early evenings, and every 15 minutes from 8 pm to midnight. Before a water show starts, the nozzles break the water surface and the lights illuminating the hotel tower turn to a purple hue or red-white-and-blue for certain music.
2. Las Vegas Boulevard (Las Vegas Strip)
Las Vegas Boulevard is a major road in the Las Vegas Valley of Nevada, best known for the Las Vegas Strip portion of the road and its casinos¡£The Boulevard leaves the city of Las Vegas at Sahara Avenue and assumes its unofficial name the Las Vegas Strip for the next 4 miles. This portion of Las Vegas Boulevard begins a few blocks to the north at the Stratosphere and runs past Mandalay Bay ending at Russell Road. This is the section of the road most people are familiar with; it is home to casino megaresorts with their world famous lights, huge video signs and other attractions. It is designated as an All-American Road. Just past the end of "The Strip", the road passes the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign.
